Im trying to take it easy but my body is being a brat.... Ive had cramps since last night and lots of peeing with minimal sleep. I don't have any idea whats going on but hoping its simply my body reacting to the cath used for the AI. :( Also been running a low grade fever and waking up in sweats for two mornings now... ick.

please, please tell me that you did not use a catheter to bypass your cervix with FRESH junk? are you aware that can cause serious complications and infection?

Re: *jessica*

  • I have to agree with Bluedaisy. I am very concerned about your health right now. If you did bypass your cervix please call a doctor ASAP. If you did not you might have a UTI. Either way, call a doctor, please.
  • I didnt bypass the cervix... I'm not sure what else to say. We read and followed the directions that came with the kit as well as asked my ob in January about doing fresh sample insems. at home and she said it'd be fine as long as I didn't go into the cervix... All she said was to stay hydrated and to take it very easy afterwards because of past losses. That was before we pretty much gave up on choosing a known donor and while our friend was not available to help.... things changed for this cycle and we did call and talk to her.

We have never used a cath to insem. before just sterile syringes but doc. said it was ok as long as we did it according to the directions she gave us and the paper that came with the kit and were sure to wash hands, etc before and after... pretty much common sense stuff but we were sure to be very careful. The pain isn't horrible it's very very much like "ovulation pain" Im simply use to taking IB Proph. for all of it and this cycle I havent taken anything so I'm feeling everything.

No signs of UTI.... no pain peeing and Im assuming im peeing more frequently b/c of the added water intake... Im drinking roughly twice as much as I normally do... which is the only difference aside from lack of ib proph. I can tell.

I didn't mean to freak you ladies out... We did call Wenesday and let her know we were inseminating and she asked a few questions about the cycle and said it sounded fine. She knows we are using a known-donor with fresh samples this cycle and then moving to frozen cycles next... when we decided to apply at the bank I had called to fill her in. My doctor is pretty big part of the whole situation because shes been there through my seizures and MC's... and she has seizures adn 3 beautiful healthy children :) So we try to keep her as updated as possible as she does play a dual role in my life as both a OB/GYN and a Primary Care Doc.

...But I was just saying that we werent doing anything this weekend because E.M. is insisting I lounge (hey, Im not going to argue).

(Sorry if I happened to say the same thing 12 times or drag on.... Im not focusing well on minimal sleep today.)

  • ...and calling doctor... just to run symptoms by her :)

  • Doc said everything *sounds* normal.... and agrees im probably peeing more due to increased water intake vs infection...

But...she said it could be a cyst on my ovary... and since im not use to feeling lots of things during my cycles b/c Im use to taking ib proph she would like to have me come in tomorrow morning to assess my tummy.... she said she isnt too concerned other wise she'd convince me to come in tonight...but did say if anything got worse to goto the ER and give her a call.

    Now I'm worried....not overly worried....but afraid I did something wrong :(

Here's to hoping and praying it's just a. a pesky cyst or b. normal ovulation pain. :)

Thanks for being concerned ladies...I wasnt going to call doc until tomorrow afternoon IF symptoms hadnt subsided.
