Sewing?

I'm looking for a place in San Diego to learn how to sew!  I have absolutely no experience but I do have a sewing machine!  I'm particularly interested in smocking and around the house projects like throw pillows, curtains, etc.  Anyone know of a place that's great for beginners?  Thanks!!

  • I know that Joann's Fabrics and Michaels have classes you can take. Go to your local one and ask them when their classes are! Ive never taken them, but I always see the flyers in the stores. If they arent offering one at the time maybe they could point you in the direction of some classes!
  • there are also free classes through the san diego continuing ed program. check out the sewing fundamentals classes. I took a knitting class through here and had a great time!! I also took a sewing class at sew hut. It was very fun! Great teacher...
