What are good tattoo shops in this area? I had a few people tell me to travel to North Carolina to get one bc they do better work -- is that true??
Anyone know price range for tattoos? I tried calling but every where says to come in.
Re: Tattoos
Where in SC are you?
They really aren't my thing, but my best friend has quite a few. I know in Greenville she always goes to someplace on Haywood Road across the street from Chili's.
I live near Spartanburg. Actually, I am going on vacation to South Beach in a few weeks and was thinking about going to Miami Ink for the tattoo. When I called, they have a $200 minimum. Basically, I just want to try to get a price range to see if that is ridiculous or acurrate for a great tattoo artist.
I did some googling and it seems to be a fair price for the location, but I just wondered what others have paid.
That's what I've been told.
I am more looking for a common price range for tattoos.
That is so funny that you should mention that you're thinking about getting one down there at Miami Ink.
My friend I mentioned, oddly enough, got one of her tattoos down at Miami Ink. Her husband took her to Miami for New Years and she got one there as a souvenier.
I'll put two pictures on here. The top one is from Miami Ink, the bottom one is from the place on Haywood Road across from Chili's that I mentioned. The one on Haywood Road is where she's had a few done. I'll try to ask her about a price comparison since she's been to both of those places. I think she's also been somewhere in NC.
However, like most things you get what you pay for. And something that's going to be on your body forever is probably not something you want to get a bargain on.
Okay, had a chance to talk to my friend.
Hers from Miami Ink cost her $220. She pretty much said they were overpriced. The one on her foot cost her $110, only because its on her foot (which is sensitive, and difficult to work on). So yeah, it is going to be pricey down there.
Thanks. I figured it would be. I would be willing to pay an extra $50-$75 to get it there since it would have a story behind the tattoo outside of the tattoo itself.
Mainly I would go to Miami Ink solely for the story of I got my tattoo there. I have a friend that is an artist that is drawing the tattoo for me, so any moderate tattoo artist should be able to do a great job -- at least I think so.
I got mine at "Tattoo Wearhouse" in Spartanburg last August. It's tribal with a hot pink heart in the middle... tramp stamp!! I paid $100 for mine there. I also have several friends that have gotten tattooed there, ranging anywhere from $50 to $180. They are on Reidville Road and are a division of "Ink Link" from Gastonia, NC. You can look at some of there work on www.inklinktattoo.com/tattoowearhouse.htm.
