So sorry ladies...bachelorette party

Hi ladies!  I apologize in advance for asking a wedding related question here.  We get them all the time on the Vegas board, so I always feel bad venturing to other local boards to ask, but I'm having a really hard time planning and could use the help.  My sister is getting married in August and we're holding her bach party the Thursday before her Saturday wedding.  I'm hoping to stay in the downtown Portland area.  So here's what I'm looking for:

A reasonably priced restaurant where we can get drinks and appetizer or food before we go out.  I'm hoping to invite the parents here.  I was thinking either Vault or Three Degrees in Portland.  I've been to both when visiting my sister.

After dinner, I need bars, preferable with dancing or a fun atmosphere.  She doesn't like strip clubs and she didn't sound too enthused at the recommendation the other local PDX bridesmaids made--Darnell's or something like that?  She's more of a bar girl, but I need a bachelorette party atmosphere, if you know what I mean.

Do you ladies have any suggestions for me?  We probably won't get too crazy since it's so close to the wedding.  I'm thinking we will eat around 6, go out around 8pm, and be in bed by 1pm.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for any help you can provide.  I've come here in the past to help plan a trip to Portland and you girls were spot on.  Hopefully you can help me again this time.

  • I don't know of many bars downtown in Portland (I went to Duke's out in SE for mine, it was fun), especially ones that would be good for a bach party. However, I am going to my good friend's bach in a few weeks and I think we're going to some fun places for her, so I'll post again after that. The only place I can think of right now may be Dixie, but I've only been there once so I can't say much about it.

Good luck, I'll post more later!

Thanks MrsBenG!  By the way, I peeked at your bio to get your full screenname and saw that you met your DH the same way I met mine---while studying abroad in Englad.  Thanks again for the help.

  • Although I haven't been here yet, Departure looks like a cool spot for drinks/apps. It is located on the top of The Nines hotel. Pan-Asian food, with rooftop/outdoor seating http://www.departureportland.com/

Vault is another good spot for a Bachelorette party. Within the vincinity of Vault is Teardrop Lounge which is a chill spot for drinks.

If your sis is into Karaoke, you could rent a private room @ Voicebox. I just went to a  birthday party here & it was a blast. http://www.voiceboxpdx.com/
