It's creeping me out a little...
Seeing the # of views of a post, with only minimal replies. For some reason I picture skeeving people viewing it all, and not just lurking newlyweds
With that in mind, goodbye to picture of DH and I in my signature---and hello Avatar.
**I wanted to be cool and play the guitar like Jim Halpert in Second Life---but I decided to be on the bachelor instead. Where's my rose?**
Has the new format made any of you wonder who all looks at these boards? Does it scare you at all to put in pictures of yourself, children, etc?
Re: It's creeping me out a little...
im in the same boat i don't get it either
i guess i feel like it's no difft then when you go to the mall and everyone sees you there ... maybe i'm over simplyfying
but i guess i don't do anything on the net i wouldn't do in real life so i have no real issues with being "known" ?
obviously i'm not posting my phone and addy and such.. but... even that info is easily enough available if people really wanted to find it.
?
It creeps me out just because there are crazies/predators out there, esp once you have children. Although we all feel very safe on our local board and as far as I know have never had trouble here, there have been some very real things that happened on other boards when weirdos found out people's true identity--a photo just gives you one more hint.
A couple years ago someone called all of a Knottie's vendors and cancelled them. D & R has had some very scary things happening with people putting two and two together and posting people's actual addresses, work places, etc. There was a top ten poster on D & R that had to leave a while ago because she had someone post threats on her blog shortly after the stalker posted the nestie's actual name and address.
I'm really glad that we've never had trouble here and I would like to post pictures for the girls that I "know" but ?you just don't know who else is looking. Hopefully I'm too boring for anyone to bother stalking, but for me its not worth taking the chance. I think its because I meet way to many crazies in my line of work!
