house selling questions

Our house listed yesterday.  I feel like this is anti-climactic.  We were going to have one showing today that has to reschedule.  Am I expecting too much in the early days?  Where are the balloons and streamers?

Re: house selling questions

  • Patience will be your best friend, especially in this market.  I know it's tough, and easier said than done, but you just have to wait.  Also, keep in mind you listed mid week and most people house hunt on the weekends, especially now that the weather is getting nicer.
  • *puts on a party hat & toots a noisemaker*

  • where are you going? you're not leaving ct are you???

  • Kate I totally remember feeling the same way.....sad to say!
  • kln, I am, we are moving to the Boston area.
  • There is no party, there are no streamers, there is only waiting and the learning of patience.

I do not puffy heart the house selling process.  Angry

  • As someone who's been listed since mid-January, it sucks royal a$$.  Normal people do not live in this perpetual state of uber-cleanliness.  DH said that in the beginning it felt like we were living in someone else's house.  We were afraid to make too much of a mess or cook something smelly, in case we had a showing.  It's not as bad now, but that's just cause of the practive we've had.

Oh, and driving around with 3 dogs in the car every time we have a showing is. not. fun. Angry

  • i feel ya.. we listed our condo on sunday, and i was expecting tons of showings this week. our realtor said its because we are having an open house this weekend and people will wait to come out until then... but i have no patience....
  • we've had our house listed since the beginning of December

we've seen quite a pick up in the number of showings since the arrival of spring, but we are still waiting for an offer

be patient - I know it is hard, but it is necessary!

  • Wait, did I miss something while I was gone?  When did you find out you're moving to Beantown?  And will you be close enough to Fenway so I can crash at your new place? ;)

I can't lose my Clay-loving, sugar-topped-fried-dough-eating ally on this board!
