Re: Gmail Chat down????

  • yes.

mine's been down for a while.

  • Yup it's down.

justcallmedee79@gmail.com Can you add me or email me? I asked you a question on here but it got lost lol.

  • OMG I feel disconected!!!!!!!!!! LOL so ridiculous but I do!

    Dee was that to me?

  • what is your question? I didn't see a page...
  • It was about azaleas. We have huge ones in the front of our house, including rose of sharons and forsynthias/Yello tree type bush. Anywho.

We need to trim the crap out of the Azaleas. I've read that we do that June/July. Is that correct? Normally they're in bloom then or soon after.

We also want to transplant the rose of sharons, some azaleas and the other Forsynthias. When is the best time to do that? Do you have any experience with these?

  • Ok forsithia you prune after it flowers and honestly you can kill the stuff if you try. its insane and spreads through its root system so it basically a weed in my mind. knock your self out transplanting it -

Azaleas you don't prune till after they bloom, because they set buds the year before blooming. meaning you might as well see the flowers you have for this spring - most likely the shrub will not bloom well next year. Transplanting them is different and you need to take care to really dig out the whole root ball. they can be finicky about being transplanted. also they need to be in a high acid soil....

Roseasharon is something I don't work with as much but you can prune them after bloom, and they can be slow growers so take care when moving htem and make sure you do it after the last frost date (MAY) and then make sure to water them as it gets hot so that they can re-establish

  • Thanks!! I had to do a search for this reply so I thank you for the answers.

We have a huge vine weed growing and 'suffocating' some of the azaleas. I just want to chop them all down. Beautful in bloom but that's it!!! You'd have a field day. We just can't get anyone to actually show up and trim them. Stinks.. I hate them. DH won't let me kill them because they've been there over 30 years.

Any ideas on how to water or give them extra fertlizer food?

  • don't know if this works for you - but mine keeps going down but comes back if I click on "older version" on the top right of the page. It also works in internet explorer but I hate using that browser.
