OK, so I remember how you had to reschedule your window installation because of the rain, which makes PERFECT sense!

Over the wknd, I told DH that I was hoping that we'd have sunny weather Thursday and Friday (our installation days) so that the installation wouldn't have to be pushed back. He replied that rain or shine, they install. I was like 'WHAT?!' I'm thankful that Thurs. and Fri. look like nice, dry days b/c I can't imagine installing windows in the rain. Odd!

Re: * Izzy *

  • That's weird. The installation guy did say something about us having big windows so they couldn't install in the rain.  Do you have all smaller windows?

I'd think that they couldn't do it in the rain because 1) inside would get wet and 2) the caulk on the outside has to dry and won't stick to the windows if it's wet.  Maybe your window guys know/do something different?

Well good luck!  It's probably going to take all day so don't make any plans.  We had 5 windows installed and it took about 7 hours with 2 installers.

  • We have mostly normal-sized windows except for one large picture window in the front of the house. I would think that the weather would need to be dry for the caulk as well. Who knows?! .. The weather looks like it will cooperate!

We are getting 13 windows replaced! It's a 2-day job with 2 installers. I'm home Thursday, and DH and I are both home on Friday. I'm preparing for headaches! I'll probably sit on our deck and read all day!

  • We were both home and basically confined to a 8x8' space.  It was pretty horrible...LOL
