We Won't Leave You...

The pregnant nesties, that is. So I figured I'd update you on this week. Basically it's been tons of nausea coupled with cravings for french fries and grilled cheese. As soon as I get hungry, I look in the fridge and can't find anything appetizing. I'm still pretty crampy and I basically slept my entire Saturday - not even changing out of my pajama pants. Embarrassed

It's getting tough to get up for work since tops and bottoms are becoming tighter. My major goal for this week is to walk 3x for at least 30 mins.

  • you should definitely come over to the other side :)  it's fun!!!  but, obviously, not disappear from here... like.... well, like I did.  lol sorry guys :)  i'm slowing coming back!
  • Haha! Yep, I figure we'll go back and forth between boards for the next 8 months.

  • aww, I hope you dont go missy... btw I know it's prob too early for a baby bump pic .. but when it starts to come out .. we want pics!
  • Okay Virginia, I'm glad you posted this because I was reading the non-preggo post and I also wanted to say that I don't plan to leave! I plan to go back and forth between the two boards :)

I was feeling GREAT up until Thursday of last week. Then on Friday evening, some nausea kicked in and it's been here ever since. It comes and goes, and it's nothing super severe (haven't thrown up). It hasn't impeded with any of my activities or responsibilities yet. I guess it's just more annoying than anything else.

I've been having a super hard time with food. Basically trying to figure out what are the right foods to eat and in what amounts to keep the nausea at bay. Virginia, I've been craving salty, greasy food too! I have NO interest in sweet stuff whatsoever. It's all about the comfort food. If I go too long w/o eating, I start to feel queasy, but then NOTHING seems appetizing. I think the best solution is to eat several small meal-snacks throughout the day.

Haven't noticed a change in my clothes yet, and I was able to work out twice last week (light weights) and it felt great. I want to walk more this week, too. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I'm going to ask the doctor if there is any way he can get me an ultrasound sooner than May 11th.

Wow, more power to you lifting weights! I consider it amazing if I put on sneakers. I'm just so tired. Yep, not really craving sweets. Although I've been drinking watered down fruit juice since I'm staying away from sodas, teas and Crystal Light.

  • i won't leave...i promise. i've just been busy with work...and iming!! lol that thing can get crazy.  anyway...i'm thisclose to finishing my frist trimester...and i'm UBER excited!!! now i should get back my energy.  i can't wait for that part.  last week i was actually able to exercise, do laudry, and cook.  my hubby was super proud.  he was like WOW...does this mean you're getting back to your normal self??? poor man has been eating take out for most of my 1st tri.

FYI:  eating small frequent meals is the best. not only does it help keep nausea at bay but also helps with the weight gain. and...according to my dr its fine to lift weights...of course light weights.  i've been doing that and its fine.  i actually feel better after work outs.

CRAVINGS: last night i had my 1st official craving...red grapes and a slice of kraft cheese, DH looked at me like i was weird but it tasted sooo good. btw, girls its normal to be into comfort foods.  i was too.

  • that is too funny!! I too have been craving grilled cheese with tomatoes! I had 5 last week! I guess the toast helps. I haven't had any morning sickness at all, in fact I wake up feeling starving. Occassionaly I smell something and it grosses me out...ginger ale is my friend :)  And I promise to not disappear from the nest as well...I do at times now because school and work keeps me busy. I finally told my coworkers, they're happy and trying to figure out how they'll manange without me when the time comes.

Jen, good for you! I want to get some of those prenatal yoga dvd's. Ask the dr if they can do the ultrasound tomorrow, when I went for my pap last week, they did it...it's so cool.

  • Okay, you girls are seriously making me hungry. A grilled cheese dipped in tomato soup sounds like HEAVEN right now. YUM!

Not having energy sucks. I have so much to get done for school in the next few weeks and I seriously cannot find the motivation or energy to do most of it. DH has really picked up the slack around the house with cleaning and stuff since a lot of the time I'm too tired to do it.

About the weights: my mom and I work out with a professional trainer and she is pretty knowledgeable about all that stuff. She says she knows exactly what I can do and what I can't do. Of course I am cross-referencing with all my books and websites and with my doctor. But I think it's fine. I really want to start walking more for light cardio. I do my workouts early in the afternoon because if I wait till later in the evening, I will be way too tired.

    Pre-natal yoga sounds awesome! :)

  • I'm glad to hear that you guys aren't going to leave, us non preggo's. Did you notice that this post turned into your cravings and morning sickness post instead of a won't leave you post. lol!

Hopefully you all get to feeling better soon.

  • I'm coming in a little late on this, but I just wanted to say that I'm not leaving either. My lack of an appearance on here lately has mostly to do with work and just catching up on stuff. Anyway, I promise I'll stick around :)

Oh, and V -- don't feel bad about lounging around in pj pants all day on a Saturday. I went to bed at 7:45 last night because I was exhausted. When I said "good night" to my hubby and sister they both looked at me like I had 24 heads! LOL All they could say was "but it's still daylight outside"

And for the record, a grilled cheese sandwich sounds PERFECT right now -- yes, even at 10 AM!

  • don't leave us girls!!! :)

i am not preggo, but a grilled cheese with tomato soup sounds great right now too... yum.

  • Crap. Now I crave tomato soup and grilled cheese too.
