I am a Matron of Honor...

My best friend got engaged over the weekend... I am so happy for her... I have never really been in a wedding.... (well I have but it was a really small non formal wedding for an older couple so there was not much to do but show up).   I am a little nervous though because she lives in NJ and with babies and me not working I have limited time and money.... I am sure that it all will work out... I am overall very excited though!

Re: I am a Matron of Honor...

  • Congratulations, you'll have fun.

Don't be nervous. Just be sure to ask other bridesmaids for help (both time and with expenses). And I'm sure your friend will be happy with whatever you can do for her.

  • How fun!  I agree with pp, ask the bridesmaids for help!  I'm the Matron of Honor in my sister's wedding this August.  It's unfortunate that she asked two "deadbeat" friends to be bridesmaids, so my cousin (another bridesmaid) and I are left footing all of bills for stuff.  But anyway... being in a wedding is so much fun...this will be my second time as Maid (Matron) of Honor and my 4th wedding!
  • That's great, congrats to them!  I'm sure it will work out well since you are such good friends, she just wants you there supporting her.
