Good, affordable places to eat at Vegas?
We're going to Vegas in mid-august and staying at the Mirage. What are good, affordable places to eat at? Or any tips to loswer our food budget while we're in Vegas? Even some of the buffets are somewhat pricey!
Also- though it's my DH's first time there, I think we'd like to stay on the Strip mostly, but are there any good restaurants off the Strip that would justify the cab fare??
We'd also like to visit the Hard Rock hotel and Palms- is it worth it to take a cab there? How much would cab fare cost?
We'd also like to go to a lounge and a nightclub. I've heard TAO Nightclub is really neat- is it expensive to get in? Would we even be able to get in? Any other recs??

You get can free passes for a lot of the clubs just by walking up and down the Strip, and sometimes in the Fashion Show Mall. Eating on the Strip can get pretty pricey, however some of the cafe's inside the casinos arent that much more expensive than a regular restaurant. Some close places to the Strip would be Sai India Curry (if you like Indian Food), Crown and Anchor (a British place that picks people up for free off of the Strip in an old car)...CubaQuick (which is traditional Cuban food) is cheap, and they have coupons buy one get one free...Huntridge Cafe is WAY cheap, breakfast is $2.99!!
