shopping help from locals

Hi everyone... I was hoping to get some help from the Locals... I will be in Chicago (Rosemont area) next week and I have a couple free days with out the hubby and would love for some good shopping...

I have been to Chicago many times and done all the downtown, mag. mile, etc. shopping so im looking for stuff a little outside the city.... are there any good malls, shopping areas, outlets, etc in the suburbs... preferably somewhat close to where ill be in Rosemont area.

 TIA

Re: shopping help from locals

  • You arent that far from Oak Brook Center Mall - I would go there.
  • Or Woodfield Mall.? If you are not used to large malls, it's probably going to be amazing to you. I think about 300 stores and restaurants.

  • You'll be a short distance from Woodfield Mall, they are touted as being Chicago's largest shopping center with over 300 shops, stores, and restaurants! (I'm partial cause I live in Schaumburg and it's my mall!)

  • LOL Lisa, great minds think alike!

  • and also if you go to woodfield, you also have a ton of stores across the street on the north, south, and west sides : )

  • Oak Brook and Old Orchard are great if it is a nice day and you want to be outside.  Woodfield is closer to Rosemont, but is one of the loudest malls I have ever been in.  I also find the setup to be confusing and annoying - it is hard to explain, but the stores are on varying levels throughout the mall.  I often leave without going to every store I planned to hit because it is such a PITA to walk through the mall.
  • Thanks everyone...

They both look great... The woodfield mall looks like its owned by the same people as my favorite mall here.. so im sure I will love it! : )
