  • Thank you!! The well wishes must have worked-- things are looking pretty good so far... The right side has two 11s plus five that are less than 10, and the left side has an 18 (yay!), two 11s, and three less than 10. My lining was 8.7, which the nurse said was ok. They didn't trigger me this morning, so I am waiting for the RE's office to decide when to have me trigger (they wanted to look at this morning's bloodwork first). I am so antsy for that phone call!

  • So you have 13 possible baby makers right now? I've heard of them canceling IUIs if more than 6 show up on the u/s.  If/when you trigger how many eggs do you (and your RE) feel will likely be released?

  • Yeah, at first I was worried about that. But apparently they only really "count" the mature or almost-mature ones (they consider "mature" 18 mm). We did make sure that they have down in my chart that we are hoping to avoid multiples, and we've already made it clear to the Dr that we'd rather cancel a cycle than risk it, but I am planning to remind them of that fact when they call this afternoon.

I also have read bits and pieces of things that imply that in PCOS, a lot of the follicles are empty, so perhaps that is what they are assuming about the smaller ones. The nurse certainly didn't seem concerned, and didn't suggest we might have to cancel this cycle, so I'm banking on that for the moment. I wish we had asked more specific questions, though!

I asked this yesterday when they called with my bloodwork, and she said they only expect the one big one will be released. She said there is a chance one of the 11s will grow large enough to release, but they're not expecting that will happen.

ETA: Thanks for the concern, and for looking out for me. I appreciate it!
