Update: my shopping problem...

How I couldn't get myself to take the plunge and spend some money on myself?

That's over. The outlets treated me well. Now if only I could stop. And stop wanting. B/c now, it's more than just clothes. I want new bedding, new landscaping, and oh, yeah: a new bathroom since we're not actually living in a 1960s camper.

Instead of all these things, I got a new roof. Not nearly as fun, but much better than the orange one with tar patches I had just 3 days ago.

Re: Update: my shopping problem...

  • I'm glad you were able to plunge into shopping... it is hard to stop once you get started though :)
  • Isn't it fun to splurge on yourself? ?I just did that recently and I had a ball. ?A new roof isn't as glamorous but I bet it looks great.
  • Oh Duff, you sound exactly like me!  And what did I do, I spent it on a new roof instead.  How funny is that!  Congrats on getting over that 1st time, hopefully the spending urge will not come out as much now.
  • I know your problem!  I feel the same way when I go to the outlets.  Can't stop shopping!
  • Good for you!  Welcome to the joys of shopping.  I'm currently debating weather or not I have enough time to scoot over to the mall for some bathing suit shopping during my lunch break...

  • Hey, a new roof will come in handy.

I don't ever want to spend money on myself. Recently my BIL (the one who has a baby) and his GF bought a brand new Playstation. They are behind on their bills and she's pregnant again(don't get me started on that one, their son is 6mo old) so they could save some money, but they spent over 400$ on a video game console. I was talking to MIL about it and I just kept sayin how I could never, ever spend that much money on myself now that we have 2 children. Any extra money we have, goes to them.

    ugh, sorry for the rant!

  • OMG do I empathize!!!!!!!!!! I can not stop buying things for our bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!
