Sometimes I feel as if I need to be more well rounded when it comes to hobbies/interests....there are things I like to do but finding the time isn't always easy and to be honest sometimes I am just plain lazy (I actually admitted it). What are some of your hobbies and when do you find time to enjoy them?
Re: Do you have a hobby???
I really love photography but 1. my camera is broken and 2. I want a new one so I get very disappointed when I take pictures.
Then again, when I have "free" time I'd rather sit on the couch and relax.
I enjoy on-line shopping, but not actually buying... just filling my shopping carts with things I would love to buy if I was a Rockerfeller.:-)
Its a sad little hobby, but I enjoy it.
I have a few. I think the key is have hobbies that involve your DH and have some that you do by yourself.
For me, I golf with the girls, partly because I am not as good as DH but also he's not into golfing that much anymore. I also love to work out---I mean I work out for the fun of it, not only to stay in shape and be healthy. I love to challenge myself that way. However, DH and I have plenty of hobbies that we do together. Bowling (we were in a league) and huge into wine tasting and taking wine classes, collecting wines, etc...But those are things we truly enjoy and we about once a week.
I think what keeps us active in our hobbies is our natural curiosity to try new things. If you and DH share that, then just pick up something that you both enjoy and sick to it. For us, we also just starting to play more tennis together--but again, I am not as good as he is but I am willing to try. Keep looking until you find something you both like---or just yourself!
I have too many hobbies!!!!! I don't know how I find time for all of them. I am pretty seasonal too - so like now top on the list is gardening, I have a lot of seedlings under lights int eh basement and one of ym veggie plots is planted. the large one gets tilled tonight.
I backpack a lot - I find the best way to do it is to plan out weekends in advance and stick to them. like we are going out next weekened, memorial day, the week of July 4th, columbus day etc.
for me its alllll about packing in things and being very organized about my calendar. BUT I don't have kids - so I just have to worry about me and DH. also I am HORRIBLE at relaxing.....relaxing to me is puttering around in the gardens or walking from shelter to shelter and leaving my phone at home.......both activities let me disconnect my "real world" brain and focus on a task that brings me joy.
I do so many other things to but its hard to fit them all in at once.....
Well..as of now I knit (poorly, but I like it), I read, and watch way too much TV! (Oh and don't laugh...but in the winter I love a snowy day and a jigsaw puzzle)
I'm about to start 2 new hobbies actually, and am so excited--I'm going to start a flower garden (already have been working on it!) And this summer I am going to take tennis lessons! I'm psyhed..
When I worked in NYC I golfed on Fridays in the summer with the work crowd..but I haven't picked up the "wrenches" in ages....they sit and collect dust...but I hope to at least go to driving ranges this summer to just get outside, enjoy a nice day with a bucket o' balls!
I garden a great deal, and starting this year will be beekeeping. My seedlings are looking fantastic already.
I do bookclub, which is such an each and fun hobby.
I knit some - really should get more into this, but I find myself folding laundry in my spare time much more often than knitting.
Lately, I've been thinking about getting into crewell work.
I knit, crochet and bake bread. Oh and I like to sew!

I am a huge scrapbook fan...though since having DS, the time just isn't there anymore. I get on a roll doing it, and then something comes up that makes me stop. Really anything creative makes me happy. I also enjoy doing decoupage-mostly, I have been doing nursery letters for gifts, etc, but I have also done hat boxes and made them into memory boxes to give as gifts for bridal and baby showers. Occasionally I will do rubber stamping, as well, making cards, etc.
Would love to say that I actually have time to do all this, but I don't anymore, but plan to once baby #2 arrives and pregnancy sickness passes.
Prior to having children my hobbies included:
After having children:
I see myself getting back into a lot of the above as the girls get older - I'll be rollerblading again with the jogging stroller and I'm hoping to get back into biking - but with the kids in tow.
I read a lot and enjoy knitting. I also quilt and scrapbook (although I haven't done those in awhile). I love watching movies.
I was also into more outdoorsy seasonal activities pre-pg (skiing in winter, hiking and biking in summer). I'm thinking it will be awhile before I can do any of that again with DC
I usually feel like I don't have enough time to get a big project done, but I make sure to read or knit at least a little every night. helps me relax from a long day.
