What's your favorite things to do in your area?
In Oconee Co we go trout fishing on the Chattooga (yeah, we're cool), we also like to hike at Table Rock in Pickens and then of course we love tailgating in Clemson.
What does your town have to offer??
Re: 4/23
Good question! I'm in Clemson now, but we're moving to Greenville in June.
In Clemson, we of course have football games in the fall, a small but pretty good downtown area, and we also go to Jones Gap State Park. Jones Gap is actually in Greenville County, so we'll still be fairly close when we move. I'm looking forward to Greenville because of the great downtown area, a good mall, and it has a lot to offer in terms of shopping and restaurants. It will be so nice to finally have a Target near us! I like Clemson, but I miss being near places like that.

Go to the driving range to hit some balls (we are just picking up golf)
Go to Carowinds
Go to the weekend everts offered in Greenville (like Downtown Alive, Jazz on Main Street, Saturday Market, and Moonlight Movies)

charleston riverdogs baseball game, charleston battery soccer game
eat at all the great restaurants
see the oldest oak tree
james island county park dog park
spoleto show
home & garden tour
boat ride the harbor or the intracoastal waterway to a secluded beach island
March 2011 moved to WA from Charleston, SC
live in Mill Creek, work in Seattle, DH works in Mt Vernon
I live in Florence and we are about 1 hour from Myrtle Beach so we get to do all the beach stuff (shopping, golf and restaurants) when ever we want but we don't have to deal with the traffic all the time. We ride down their every noe and then for a good meal and then come home.
In my area, we have some sports teams (arena football and baseball). We have several parks throughout the county. We are also about 10 miles from Darlington for any Nascar fans (I personally don't like nascar, but some locals love race weekends). And there is a new concert the first Friday of every month that will be starting in May. I can't wait.
Lauren,
Trout fishing is stream fishing right? DH likes to fish but he doesn't like lake fishing. I'd love any suggestions you have on places for him to go and fish.
Yes!!! You guys should come and go with us (or we could let the guys go....) The Chattooga river is about 30 minutes above Seneca (where we live) and is an awesome place to fish.
That actually sounds like fun. I'll go fishing every now and again with DH. I bought a pink pole and I carry a caboodle for a tackle box to annoy him We'd need to get SC fishing licenses and such. Let me know next time you're going and if you don't mind we may tag along!
