Re: Dishwasher Poll

  • I voted 2-3x/week.  It is probably usually 2 times.  We have a pretty large dishwasher, so it takes a lot to fill it up.

We also supplement during the week with hand washing.  We hand wash all our pots and pans, and usually need to wash some silverware and mugs in between running the washer to get us through.

  • I marked "about once a week" but really it is more like once every two weeks. But we usually wash big things (pots & pans, cutting boards, etc) by hand.

  • hmmm, i suspected i had a problem! I also handwash all of our pots and pans but all the other stuff seems to pile up quickly.

ps - brit, i'm loving your ticker Big Smile

  • I turn ours on every night before I go to bed and empty it every morning when I get up. It isn't always completely full Embarrassed but we are currently operating with only 2 pairs of sippy cups (we are making the transition from one kind to another) and since the kids refuse to eat off of anything but their blue or orange plates, they have to be washed daily. Plus we have 3 people (kids and our nanny) home all day so there are breakfast and lunch dishes in there along with dinner dishes (on the nights we eat at home.)

  • I should also probably add that we have several sets of dishes, about a zillion glasses, and three sets of silverware, so we can go a long time without washing. Smile And dinner is the only meal we eat at home.

  • We run ours every day.  It's really tiny, but I feel guilty about it 2-3 times a week.  K's on 3rd shift right now, so we don't eat the same meals (which sucks for other reasons, too), so we usually have dishes from 4-5 meals a day.  Blech.
