Myrtle Beach Nesties...
Are any of you being affected by the fire that's spreading in that area??? My in-laws are in the N. Myrtle area, but so far they're alright.

They're ok. They're in North Myrtle Beach. They're about 2 miles from Barefoot Landing, but right now they're alright. Steve's cousin's neighborhood is in the area where the whole thing started. Their neighborhood was partially evacuated this morning and this afternoon it was completely closed-3 of the highways in that area are completely closed until this gets under control-all this I heard from my MIL this evening when we got in touch with her.
Thanks for the concern. Keeping fingers crossed that this thing gets extinguished SOON!!!!
Oh wow we'll certainly keep them in our prayers! I didn't realize how close they were! It must be someone else I know whose parents live north of north myrtle.
Do your parents live on the beach? We stayed at the Avista condos when we were there last summer. It wasn't far from barefoot landing... maybe we were near your parents!

And how is the new job?
Yeah, my IL's live 2 streets away from the rear entrance to Kingston Plantation. They can literally hop on their golf cart and ride it for 5 minutes or less and be in the sand. :-)
My parents live up in Jacksonville, NC but they have a place @ Oak Island which is about 1.5 hr from MB/NMB. So far there haven't been any ill effects in that area.
I'll let you know if/when we get an update/hear from the IL's this weekend. :-)
