Boston - things to do alone?
I am tagging along with DH as he travels to Boston next week for work. The majority of my day, I will be alone. What are your favorite things to do in the city that will keep me occupied and not out stuck in the hotel room.
TIA!

Re: Boston - things to do alone?
The Science Museum and Museum of Fine Arts could both easily be done alone. Also, the Isabella Gardner Museum was great from what I remember, it's been years since I've been there.
Walk along Newbury street and window shop and have lunch at one of the cafes.
Walk the Freedom Trail at your own pace.
Bring a book and sit on the common and read if it's nice out.
Check out Harvard Square in Cambridge (it's very easy to get to on the T).
Walk around Qunicy Market and Fanueil Hall and watch the street performers and walk down to the water.
I definitely suggest getting a weeklong T card. I want to say it's $15 and it lets you ride the T and busses for 7 days, definitely worth it.
Oh yes, definitely a Duck Tour. And chowda...I have wanted it SO BAD for so long, and clams were the one thing my OB said NOT to eat as far as shell fish. We spent a freezing, rainy, snowy weekend in Boston in February, it just about killed me to not have some.
(PS - my favorites are at the place in Fanueil Hall, can't think of the name, or at the Bull and Finch Pub, more commonly known as Cheers!!)
mmm..chowda and corn bread from inside FH, Jess I know what place you're talking about, then get 1/2 a doz mini choc chip cookies, YUMMMMM.
Definitely go to the North End - you will love it. Grab lunch at a sandwich place called Volle Nolle right on Hanover street - it is so cute in there and the owner is such a nice person, you'll probably end up chatting with her!
There are also great places in Cambridge that you could check out...Harvard square would be good for an afternoon.
