Tony Gonzalez traded to Falcons

Long time KC Chief's player and 10 time pro-bowler is leaving KC and heading to Atlanta.  Being a Chief's fan, it's crazy to think of Tony G. being in any jersey but a Chief's jersey.  I certainly wish him the best of luck, but I wish #88 would still be on the field at Arrowhead this fall. 

He was traded for a #2 pick in the 2010 draft.  It will be interesting to see how that goes into play next year.

I am very excited for the NFL draft on Saturday.  I hope that KC will make some much needed changes now that there are new faces on the coaching/management side of things.

I would love to see Chase Coffman (TE from Mizzou) replace Tony Gonzalez.  Chase is a born and raised KC kid.  Whoever replaces #88 has some HUGE shoes to fill.

I liked Tony Gonzalez...he served me well on a couple fantasy teams.    But maybe having him gone will make the Broncos' job a little easier this fall!

I think it would be quite different if he were 10 years younger.  Tony is from KC, raised in KC, and has defined the Chiefs organization for years.  But he's no spring chicken anymore.  He knows that he has to make a run at the Superbowl now because by the time (if there is one) that the Chiefs rebuild themselves, he will be forced into retirement.
