Usually I'm the queen of gift giving. This year I can't think of anything. DH and I like to get his mom a nice gift for her bday. It's also a week before mother's day so if it's something a little more than we wanted to spend we just call it a combined gift. I'm so out of ideas.... does anyone have suggestions???
Oh - and we've already done a digital picture frame and a spa day as I know those are commonly suggested gift. I can't really get her clothing because it's MIL and FILs tradition to go on a shopping spree together as her bday gift.
TIA!
Re: MIL gift help
I am stumped this year for my MIL. She is so dfficult to buy for.
Here is what I have gotten her in the past for birthdays/mothersdays/ christmas etc:
-flowers and some type of gourmet food or treat for the house (ie basket of biscotti cookies)
-bath and body works (she loves it)
-gift certificate to a restuarant to use with fil
-a blouse from the limited
-a basket filled with kitchen stuff like teas, a kitchen towel, a gourmet coffee sample etc (i bought all the stuff at marshalls and made the baskets myself)
Hope that helps!
Does she like Martini's? Hallmark stores have really cute Martini glasses that are decorated for each holiday or weddings etc. Maybe you could get her a glass and shaker and mix?
A new purse, or a cute vase from pier1with some home accents.
I like Jenny's idea of a gourmet basket.
Or what about an edable arrangment, they come in cute little buckets or a basket and then she could use it as a holder for a plant.
Grandmas love pictures of their grandchildren! And with Ms Lynda being so adroable and all, I bet she can't have enough! I gave MIL a photobook of our recent trip for her bday, and OMG she was so in love w/ the gift! She told me secretly that it was the best present ever. She was even a bit teary eyed. I also knew I was going to make it, so I was purposely taking lots of pictures.
Perhaps you can make a photobook of Lynda from birth to now, and highlight pics of her and her DH w/ the baby.

you can always hit the seybold bldg in downtown miami, 8 stories of jewelry stores. you can't beat that!!
Does she like to cook? Last year my sister got my mom a subscription to the Rachel Ray magazine, and my mom absolutely loved it.
