thanks for responding to my post. I'd love to know how your experience has been at UConn. We are looking to make an appointment soon and I didn't know how long it takes to be seen.

TIA!

Re: **sue-bride**

  • The appt itself took me about 2 weeks to get once I did all the chromosomal testing with my ob/gyn (they referred me after my 3rd miscarriage, I am currently pregnant again, but only 4.5 weeks.  The hsg testing has already indicated I will miscarry.)

Anywho.....Dr. Maier (specific Dr. I was referred to) is really nice.  Each dr. has their own nurse.  You can leave them any message and they get back to you the same day.   I have been talking with his nurse this week and once I go for my confirmation testing tomorrow  that I am miscarrying, they will have a new plan for me (more testing or IVF, etc...)

My friend was referred to Dr. Benavito by her ob/gyn.  She was told if anyone can get you pregnant, he can.    Unfortunately going to the RE, usually doesn't mean a quick fix, but they work with you to get there.

Follow KAGs posts.  She is with Yale REs, I believe, and getting ready to go through IVF.   Very interesting.

  • Thanks for the info.  I'm so sorry for what you are going through.  We have been ttc for a year and I have had bloodwork and a hsg with my obgyn.  all my tests came back fine so far.  The bloodwork wasn't really ttc related.  My dh had a sa and everything came back fine.  My doc wanted me to go on clomid for three months unmonitored, but dh and I just weren't comfortable with me going on it without being monitored given the side effects and the fact that I have ovulated every month given opks and charting. If we don't get pregnant this cycle, I am going to call Uconn for an appointment. I'm glad to hear that it only takes a few weeks.

Thanks again for all your info.  I will keep you in my thoughts.

  • I would make the appt and then if you do get pregnant, so can always cancel.   Waiting is always the hardest.
