I just got my weekly update from babycenter.com and I'm reading about m/s.
"You're more likely to have nausea or vomiting during your pregnancy if any of the following apply:
You're carrying a girl. One study found that women with severe nausea and vomiting were 50 percent more likely to be carrying a girl. "
That just seems unlikely...though my bff had horrific m/s and had a girl. But another friend had horrfic m/s and had a boy.
Interesting.
Re: Mom's...is this true?
Personally I think all that gobbledegook is hogwash. I wouldn't trust any of it. My SIL had minimal ms with with both kids, one was a girl, one was a boy.
{My Connecticut Wedding Photography Site}
I did a search and found an article about ONE study that found a slight difference in the proportion of women experiencing hyperemesis who gave birth to girls. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/556895.stm
Not enough of a difference to make bets on. Plus, these were women with severe nausea and vomiting, not just run-of-the-mill morning sickness.
I thought it was hogwash, it just doesn't seem very scientific.
And Cory, so far I had 2 weeks where it was bad, no puking though, then it went away, and now its here like every other day. Not so bad compared to what my friends have gone through though.
Negative.
Between me and my sisters there are currently 4 kids (3 boys and 1 girl) we all had bad m/s with our boys. My sister who had the girl had no m/s at all and is actually PG again and has no m/s again and is convinced it's a girl. we'll see!
I was lucky enough to not get too much m/s...and both were boys. But I know plenty of people who had girls and had no m/s at all, and plenty who've had boys and been sick as a dog for months.
