DH and I had been "trying" (hate that word) for the last 6 months without any success, then I had an apparent false positive urine preg last month....I know, I know, there's no such thing as a false positive, but there were 2 pink lines on one test, and the second, third, and fourth were all negatives.
Anyway, we decided to take a few months off of the attempting process, mainly because we talked and knew that if I got pregnant this cycle we'd have a Christmas baby. Well, apparently my body just needed a release from the supposed stress of counting cycle days, because I took several tests yesterday and each has said "pregnant"! My calculated due date is somewhere between 12/20 and 12/24, so we'll see. We're a little surprised, but giddy too. And not questioning our little surprise! H doesn't want our friends and family to know until our 6 week US to confirm heartbeat, but I figured telling my (mostly anonymous) online friends was safe!
I'll surely have lots of questions soon. Even though I'm an ER nurse, all I ever really see pregnancy related are the bad things, so I really just want to get through the first 12 weeks so this feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop can leave me. Bonus to my job....unlimited free US That will definitely put the mind at ease!!
(And yes, it is pathetic, but the first thing I did once the shock wore off was go to lilypie and get my ticker )
Re: Holy crap -- I'm pregnant!!!
Congratulations!! That's wonderful news. You're lucky being able to have an U/S anytime you'd like.
Ask away about being pregnant or anything else!!
Congrats!!!
Parker was a surprise, a great one.
We had gone to talk to my OB less than 2 weeks before about what we need to start doing to "try" and get pregnant. Looks like we knew more than we thought we did
Happy to answer any and all questions you have. As a mom to a 2 month old... I'm an expert At least in diaper changing I am.
Wish you a Happy and Healthy 9 month!

Congrats. We had a similar surprise after 9 months of trying. Funny, I never believed that "just stop trying" hoopla.
The baby boards are OK for the occasional question, but definitely lurk first.
Good luck!
Yeah Erica! How exciting. I loved the unlimited u/s as well.
