Chicago Nestie needs help!

Hello Ladies,

We will be visiting Miami and I was hoping you ladies could help me out:

Would you stay at the hotel in the airport vs Runway Inn hotel that is less than 2 miles from the airport?

Does anyone have an estimate about how much a cab from the Port of Miami to the airport would cost? (I tried calling cab companies and googling it but no luck)

TIA

Elizabeth

  • Sorry I don't know how that hotel is but I would estimate a cab ride being about $30 from the airport to the port....it depends on the time though (and traffic) so there's really no telling.

     GL and have fun!

  • The area around the airport can be a bit unsafe, depending on where you stay.  The Runway Inn is someplace I wouldn't want to stay... I've never heard of it, but it sounds like it may be a little fishy.

If you would like, stay at the airport; you know you'll be safe.  Like pp said, the cab ride to the port should be no more than $40.  It is about a 20 min drive, depending on traffic.

How about looking into shuttles from airport to port from your cruiseline?  I believe some offer this for little to no cost.  So, if you stay in airport, this can be a good option.

Otherwise, depending on length of stay, I'd recommend staying in Coral Gables or perhaps Brickell.  Both have restaurants walking distance from hotels, and some nightlife (not sure if you are taking baby).  And they are both closer to the port.
