    1. I'm a Regional Planner (City/Urban/Regional Planning)

    2. I like it, but would like to get into the private side eventually

    3. I thought I'd be a Landscape Architect when I was in high school...starting out going to college for that and switched to Natural Resources Management, because I was more interested in the science of things than the art of landscape.

    4. Actually being a planner for a private firm is closely related to Landscape Architecture, so I won't have gone far from what I thought I was going to be.

  • 1. Right now, I'm an Admin. Assist. In less than one month, I'm going to be in the Health Program Assistant Track.

    2. Ummm....I don't hate it but I don't love it. I'm glad to be leaving.

    4. It changed all the time when I was young. I wanted to be a teacher and an actress. I still think an actress would be cool. I'd love to be a SAHW/M when the time comes, but,well, that's not going to happen. I enjoy health issues, so I think I"ll like it. And, lately, I've wanted to be a lactation consultant....but, I think I should have kids and try it out first. :)

  • i work in healthcare as an economic consultant.

    I absolutely freakin' love what I do.  I crunch numbers with the goal of improving the quality and cost of medical care.  This is what I've wanted to do since sophomore year of college for the most part, it's just taken me six years of trial and error to get this far.  I love the company I work for, too.

     when I was a kid, I figured I'd be a librarian or a teacher... went through a brief period of thinking about law school early in college.

    3. Is this what you dreamed you'd be when you were younger? Yes.  Well, not the NGO part, but I did want to be some sort of writer (I often thought newspaper columnist).  I also wanted to be an interior designer though.

    2.  Most days I love it.  I get to oversee all of the pieces and parts and make sure things work in the end.  I also get to jump in and do stuff when things get busy so it keep a good balance.

    4. My parents had a yacht repair yard growing up and I always planned on either running that or being a boat captain.

    4. I started in college in sports law, decided that I wanted a family more than a career so here I am and hopefully the "family" aspect is coming soon now that I'm married!!

     

    I must also mention I interviewed for (and I think i got) a position as a Spa Manager at a local salon and spa... hopefully I'll here today, and then #2 will change to "love everything about my job" lol

  • 1.  Right now I'm an Applications Engineer.  My degree is in mechanical engineering.

    2.  Some days I can tolerate my job, most days I almost hate it.  I love my manager though and he is all that is keeping me here right now.

    4.  I wanted to be a doctor until I took biology in high school and hated it.  I've always like science and especially math, so being an engineer isn't too far off.   I wanted to do civil engineer b/c I like the idea of making buildings and I wanted to know how they build parking garages without messing up the layers, LOL!  I couldn't do civil engineer in the program that I was in though.

    1. Oil & Gas Economist

    2. I like the industry (I have always been obsessed with science, natural resources, etc.), I work on international issues, so it's always interesting subject matter and I love econ. Unfortunately, some days I feel more like a journalist or a statistician than I do an actual analyst/economist.

    3. No. Terrified of Econ in college, and had little clue as to what it was before that. I thought I wanted to be a Doctor, but after college (MCATS, med school apps and all), I thought otherwise. I fell in love with Econ while studing international development in Grad School.

    4. I'd still like to do more international development work. Lately I have thought a lot about coming home to CT. I would love to work on some of the renewable energy policy that's going on. It would be cool to be a policy advisor to the Governor. Any contacts ladies? Smile I have also thought about wanting to get into economic development at the regional/local level.

    3. Is this what you dreamed you'd be when you were younger? ~ I went through several occupations I wanted when I was young (veterinarian, lawyer, preschool teacher), but this was definitely one of them.

If you answered no to Q3, what would your dream job be? ~I do love my job, but hate the crap that's driven by politics in the public school system that goes along with it.  I've actually been thinking I would love to get into educational consulting, but don't really know how to look for that type of employment.  I believe I have the background and qualifications, it's just finding a job that would be tough.

    3. Is this what you dreamed you'd be when you were younger? Nope! When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cowgirl when I grew up.

    4. If you answered no to Q3, what would your dream job be? Funny enough, I'd still like to be a cowgirl, lol. I'd love to train horses - to spend my days at a stable with horses would definitely be my dream come true.

    OMG - I am getting actually getting choked up talking about horses. I didn't realize I missed riding this much...
