Today's Question: 4/27

What is your most irrational fear?

Mine is being in the center lane on a 3 lane highway with a big mack truck on either side of me sandwiching me in.

Re: Today's Question: 4/27

  • Mine is the same exact thing MrsZP2B. When I was 5 or 6 driving with my mom we witnessed a Big Mac truck flip on to its side. Thankfully no one was hurt including the driver of the truck. Every time I pass one of those trucks I book it and if  I get caught next to one I start shaking.
  • Most irrational?  I don't know I think most of my fears are pretty rational.

A couple of years ago there was a news story about a kid who had two spiders living in his ears.  I am so scared that's going to happen to me.  I have a horrible fear of spiders and the thoughts of them taking up residence in my body makes me squirm.

EWWW this reminded me a story from my DH's uncle.   He's a Dr. and when he was doing his residency, he saw a girl who was experiencing hearing loss.  Turns out there was a DEAD ROACH in her ear!!!  He told her it was built up ear wax (so she would hold still and wouldn't freak out) and removed it and then discreetly showed her parents what he actually removed, then threw it away quickly.  As far as he knows, she never knew what he actually removed from her ear!

  • EW EW EW EW!

Now I have 2 irrational fears of bugs in my ears!

  • The only fear I have that I've been really worried about it my house burning down with my little Emma inside her crate, not able to get out....

  • For me bridges. . . . I want to close my eyes when I drive over themIndifferent

And childbirth. . .. I'm so wising for a stork right now.

FWIW I don't think this is irrational at all.  I would be seriously concerned about that too if I had a pet that was crated when I was gone.  Are there any alternatives though?

I'm definitely with you.  After watching a friend being wheeled into the recovering room after her c section and then spending the next three days in the hospital with her,  I am NOT excited about the process.  I had to turn my head when they cleaned her IV.  How in the heck am I supposed to survive having one put in?

So my answer to the OP is that my big fear is needles and anything else medical related.  Shudder.
