Dinner Shows

I need a little bit of help. I am planning my mom's 50th Birthday for next week Friday & I have no idea what to do. We normally do a family dinner though I wanted to do a dinner show this year. We went to Madame's Cabaret a few years ago which ws anawesome drag queen show & the fam loved it.

This year I was thnking of mai Kai, though is that Kid Friendly. We will have a 12yr old & 10yr old in our dinner party.

Is there any other dinner shows you may reccommend in either Dade or Broward???

I've heard good things about Mai Kai, but have never been myself, so no clue if kid friendly.  I'd call and ask. 

If you decide to make it adult only, how about in Improv show?  You can have dinner before, and go to a 10pm show.  Depending on the artist, it can be loads of fun.

Oh, how about Laughing Matterz (sp)... it is a dinner / comedy show.

You can go Tatiana in Hallandale. It is a Russian restaurant, but it is very pretty and they have a show and great food. It is not cheap, but not sooo expensive. I had my wedding at Tatiana and it is a cool place.

Opa can be fun too!  If you haven't been, they serve Mediterranean (sp) food, and have belly dancers coming around, and dancing on tables!  The music can be a bit loud.  If you go early @7pm, it should be fine for the kids in the family... they would get a kick out if it!

I took my mom to La bodeguita del medio last summer for her bday. It was awesome. We reserved a table right in front of the band (downstairs). They had a latin band playing after 8pm I believe. The food is great and the mojitos are awesome. I saw some people with kids. If you go early you can have kiddies there. Fyi...the later you go it turns into a nightclub at night.

I've also heard great things about Mai Kai and I think it's child appropriate.  Laffing Matterz is also amazing but I would save it for a trip without kids that young.  I would wait until they are in high school before going.

I agree with Rachael, Laffing Matterz is hilarious, and the food is good, but the humor isn't kid friendly, kids may not even be allowed. Haven't been to Mai Kai, but also hear it's good

I went last yr for a friend's bday, and it was fun, not my "elemento" but fun.  But I drove by a few wks ago, and it changed names, already!

Yea I know what you mean about el elemento. The only time ive been was with my parents for my Moms birthday and we went early, thankfully lol. I dont think its a place I would go with DH or friends. Its kind of like bongos. Just a dif crowd.

I cannot believe they changed the name already! Sheesh thats Miami for you.
