I just read your rant/rave.....I agree it's kinda exciting to be the cause of all that consternation
What field are you in? I know that I wouldn't ever be the center of attention like that....competition in primary care medicine isn't the same
Re: ~~Lisajoan~~
Hi! Ya, it was pretty fun I gotta say.
Ok, here is where I ask to you and anyone reading this, please don't judge me, but I work for the firearms/shooting sports industry. I work for a rifle/shotgun manufacturer in the Marketing/Advertising department (work on catalogs, print ads, media buys, website updates, trade shows, etc).
The industry is very small--but there are several manufacturers in CT alone...and although truly a genuine group of people, it's very 'competitive' because so many of our products are so alike...big fight for market share and all...everyone thinks they're doing something innovative when really, nothing is 'new' anymore...but the paranoia exists--thus they asked me to head out of town today. I guess the thought I would be a 'spy'!?
I have only been in this industry 3 years, and it has taken me that long to get used to telling people where I work. It's hard..people either shy away from me, challenge me on "how can you work for that industry", or sometimes I breathe a sigh of relief when someone says "hey my dad hunts with one of your models.." Just call me Annie Oakley....
That's actually really interesting! I thought it might be something where there was a lot of competition and innovation, like maybe pharmaceuticals.
I don't have any issues w/ firearms kept safely and used appropriately.
