What can you tell me about these areas??

If you can tell how these areas of Richmond are my friend would really appreciate it.  She said they are looking at townhomes that they can rent and these some areas.  Are they good bad??  They have two little ones so they want a good neighborhood and they friend and dh are younger...early 20's.

114 north 34th st, south 14th st, or southwest 9th st.  Or Ivey Green?

Re: What can you tell me about these areas??

  • I grew up in Centerville, the neighboring town, and would not live in Richmond proper, however more from the school rivalry stand point. I've never heard of Ivey Green?, I would go SW 9th, first ?then a crap shot on the other two. ?It all depends on where they actually are. ?If they are renting to start and buy later they could always try a short term lease to feel the town out for themselves and live where they feel is best. ?
  • What about Jacksonburg??  Or something like that:)  Is there any areas right outside of Richmond they should look into??

  • I'd look into Centerville, Fountain City, I don't know, I think most of the "town" areas are fairly easy commute to Richmond. ?But that's me, I prefer a smaller area/smaller school. ??

  • I live in richmond in a really nice area called Reeveston, I can tell you that if they are looking for a good neighborhood they will want to avoid anything that is South 6th through South 14th-depending on where on 14th they are looking, im not sure about North 34th-it would be out by the mall somewhere.  SW 9th could be fine. Ivy green apartments used to be Government subsidised, they look nice but unless they've done some major remodleing I would avoid it.  Good Luck!  finding decent housing in richmond is a hassle.  I second centerville, fountain city, hagerstown-the schools are much better in the outlying areas.
