Restaurant Recs: Shoreline, on the water?

I am helping to plan a lunch party for a graduation celebration on a Friday afternoon in May. The hostess wants a nice restaurant that can seat about 12 - 15 on or close to the water and that is open on Fridays before dinner. We tried Sage in NH, but no dice. Any other thoughts? Thinking New Haven, Branford, East Haven or West Haven mostly, but open to all thoughts....TIA...I am usually pretty good at this but my brain is not working today at all.

Re: Restaurant Recs: Shoreline, on the water?

  • Dock-n-Dine in Old Saybrook comes to mind.  Not my favorite place but it meets your criteria.
  • The Stonehouse in Guilford - they have a really nice function room with windows looking out to the water (not directly ON the water)

Aqua in Clinton (great location, so-so food)

The Stonebridge in Milford - nice location but not on the water

They Backdeck in Old Saybrook - perfect locaton, great service, great food but farther away from the New Haven area
