Dogs don't need much.

1. He is peeing and pooping inside because instead of properly housebreaking him, you litter trained him. Not exactly the best decision on your part. You can restart the process by crating him when you cannot keep an eye on him. If that means 23 hours a day, it's ok because it won't be forever. Read up on crate training and stick to it.

2. Your hormonal and not thinking clearly. It happens. Project longer down the line when both kids light up at the siht of their dog, their best friend who loves them unconditionally. It takes time, but it happens.

3. Your dog should not be the center of your world. It doesn't need or want to be, it just wants to be a part of the family. All it needs is food, shelter, and some love. And yes, we all have plenty of love to go around so don't put emphasis on the quantity, but on the quality.

4. Hire a dog walker to give yourself a break. Send the dog to daycare occasionally. Feed it out of a Buster Cube. It will wear out the dog, and we all know tired dogs are good dogs.

I've got more tips on getting dogs ready for baby in my bio, so you might find some other advice in there helpful as well.

- a FT working mom to 2 dogs, 1 baby, and a DH who works 6 days a week. If I can do it, I know you can too.
