Are playpens cruel? With POLL!
Julia is a little maniac (not in a bad way, just in a very physical way). She's able to move backwards and sideways and seems never to tire.
I put her in the playpen for the first time right now, and she's pretty cool with it (and I can take my eyes off of her for a minute). I know some moms think they are equivalent to child abuse though.
I wouldn't leave her in it for too long, but I'm kind of thinking this will be a very good thing for me and DH. What're your thoughts?

Didn't most of our parents use them? And we all seem to be ok.
I would happily have used one in my house if it would've flown with The Dervish. Which it would not have. I think she would've taken it as a challenge/invitation to pole vault.
Carrie
my 2 year old still gets in her playpen .....she loves it.....and i plan to use it on dd#2 nothing wrong with a safe place to play while mommy takes a brief break !
Don't even go there, Duff. Hopefully, Julia will learn that chilling out is as fun as going nuts on the floor.
Have you ever seen whirling dervishes? They're crazy! I was practically nauseated watching them. I am, however, not known for my iron stomach...
Carrie, just don't shoot the messenger is all I'm saying. And move all of your chairs to storage now, lest she end up on the fridge.
Sounds like another Dervish is in the making! How young can they start Roller Derby?
Does this look like a kid who hated it?
Although she tried to bite! her way out!
I've never seen Ava sans curls!! She was adorable even as a little, little one!
Looks like a lot of Nesties have little maniacs...
Good Lord, a playpen is not "abuse." That's retarded. I think they are great - they keep the child SAFE when the parents can not give their full attention to him/her.
BTW, it's good to know we aren't a bunch of materialistic dummies pining for "fashionable" playpens, lol.
