For those of you in the upstate, are any of you participating in Hands On Greenville? We're taking part through our church who pledged 800 volunteers.
H.O.G. Day - May 2, 2009
So, what are you doing on May 2nd? It's not as far away as you might
think. On that beautiful spring morning, many MANY of your friends,
colleagues and people you have never met before will gather for 4-5
hours to make a HUGE difference in Greenville.
This year's Hands On Greenville Day will be the 15th annual event. Each
year since 1994 committed, engaged citizens have turned out on a
Saturday in May to make a HUGE difference in the Greenville area. They
mulched, weeded, painted, chopped, drained, and slogged to make our
area a better place to live, raise a family and greet visitors. Last
year we had the biggest event ever, welcoming over 2,800 volunteers and
completing 94 different projects. All in less than 4 hours on a single
Saturday. This year we expect even more volunteers and projects and
we'll continue the tradition started last year of having our HUGE
after-party at Fluor Field.
Thank you for all you do to help Hands On Greenville be THE place to
volunteer and make a difference in the Greenville area! See you on May
2nd.
Re: Hands On Greenville
I'm not in Greenville, but that is such a great idea--my town needs something like that.
We did this last year with Pete's work. He hasn't said anything about it this year though.
Requiring it??? Wow, that's rough... mandatory volunteerism!
We're on a project at Judson Community Center. Do you know where you will be?
