Do you care that the Pope is here?

I feel like I'm watching the Pope channel.  All Pope, all the time.  It's like 1/2 of the local news.  I'm not Catholic, so it really doesn't factor into my life.  Is anyone going to see him or have any feelings about it?  Just curious.

Re: Do you care that the Pope is here?

  • I'm not Catholic so it doesn't matter to me if he was in NYC or in Vatican City.  I think he's become largely a figure head, like the Queen.
  • I think it is great that he is here but would probably be more excited about it if I were going to worship with him. I can see how it is overkill for those who aren't catholic though.

  • No....and I'm going straight to hell for it arn't I...damn itDevil
  • Nope, not really. Not Catholic here. I mean, if the leader of the Greek Orthodox church came here or any other religion, I don't think he'd get the same kind of?pageantry.

  • I am indifferent.....  Huh?

Yah if a Muslim leader came, I'd be interested in knowing if he'd get the same attention.  Though I know the Dali Lhama had quite the following.

  • I am Catholic so I enjoy seeing the coverage. I think he deserves respect as do all religious leaders. I understand why people that aren't Catholic wouldn't care about the Pope. I listened to him speak this morning and he had some interesting things to say.
  • Not in the least.  I am Catholic.and I went to catholic grammar school, catholic HS, a catholic (Jesuit) college and a catholic (Jesuit) graduate school.  I guess it just never took.  lol.
  • Not in the least!  I'm actually tired of seeing it on TV also!
  • I'm an athiest, so not at all.
  • Honestly I wish that I had the opportunity to go the NY Stadium for the Mass.  I am Catholic and I am interested in what is going on and what the Pope's has to say.  However, I do feel the media coverage is a little over done... the media is like that with everything these days.
  • I  haven't really thought about it until seeing this post, so I would say that I was indifferent but now I think it's pretty special that he's here.
  • I don't.. But I'm not catholic either.. I do think it's cool that DH's 2 aunts get to go see his mass tomorrow. We were put on the wait list but didn't get on which is fine too. That's going to be insane tomorrow!
