I am putting together a care package to send via USPS. It has to represent Los Angeles---candies, books, other non-perishables, etc.. that represent L.A. $20 limit. Any ideas?? And obviously it needs to be something that you would actually want to receive!

Re: Need some ideas!
How about a note that says " I was going to send a bigger care package but due to budget cuts all I could send was this paper."
LOL!
That was hilarious, Marina!
I think the other ideas are good ones...a few postcards, some sand/shells, a cupcake would be good...go down to the Farmers Market if you have time...they have lots of "touristy" shops.
I like the sand idea - you can put it in a small jar or something.
Other ideas:
Destination ideas:
A pencil or small item from Disney Land, the La Brea Tar Pits
Small item or box from a Rodeo/Robertson store
Hollywood ideas:
Some sort of Hollywood item - either a fake oscar, one of those Take 2 black things (I don't know the name for them), a script
Black and white picture of old Hollywood
Map of Star homes
Food ideas:
A menu from a flagship LA Restaurant - Spago? Campanile?
A Los Angeles Zagats guide
A California Pizza Kitchen cookbook
Some chop sticks, hot sauce, etc (our thriving ethnic food scene)
Random ideas:
Earthquake disaster information (tongue in cheek, of course)
