please recommend your OB/Midwife!
I think i am in the market for a new ob/gyn.
I am looking for a small practice (3 or less MDs preferrably) with a Midwife on staff, that delivers at Winnie Palmer or Winter Park Memorial.
i got a great recommendation, but I called the office and they only deliver at S. Seminole (i may consider it, but really leaning more towards Winnie or WPMH)
Has anyone had any experience delivering at S Seminole?
Please let me know if you can recommend anyone!!! Thanks!

Re: please recommend your OB/Midwife!
I would stick to wanting to deliver at Winnie. I only have FL Hospital to compare it to, but it was seriously like a resort when compared to the other. It really was a great experience being at Winnie.
I don't have a rec for you because I go to a large practice (which I LOVE) that doesn't have midwives. Good luck finding someone.
I also had a great experience with Winnie. They have fantastic nurses, and the hospital resembles a hotel that caters to business travelers. I've also heard good things about Celebration Hospital.
I go to a small practice with three wonderful OBs, but they don't work with a midwife, so I can't help you there.
Good luck with your search!
SmileJenn what practice to you go to?
Leela - which FH were you at?
I was with a friend at the main FH on Orange Avenue. There were no problems with the doctors or nurses, I just thought it was a dump compared to Winnie.
One thing about Winnie that I really liked is that they have "companion meals" for $4. So when you are there your husband (or whoever stays with you) can get their food delivered for $4. My husband and my mom enjoyed the meals they had there. And of course the large rooms and huge bathrooms are nice too!
I highly highly recommend Dr.Peppy! He is my OB and I love him so much! He is the sweetest doctor ever and really cares about his patients. He is also voted #1 OB in Florida on Rate MD

I worked at Winnie Palmer up until last year, it's definitely the best hospital to deliver at
My blog
I recommend going to The Women's Center in Hunters Creek. I used the midwife on staff there, Jennifer and she is amazing. I wasn't planning on using a midwife initially but am really glad I did and I will stick with her for the next one a few years down the road. : )
I also recommended her to a friend who had her baby in January and she had a great experience with her as well.
If you want more info and still have my email address feel free to email me. : )

I am actually looking for a new OB as well and I have had some great recommendations from friends including Dr. Bayouth, Dr. Bielawny, and Dr. Kareem.
I was bedrested and later delivered at FH downtown and I didn't like it at all. The doctor on-call was great (Dr. Crider) but they left me in recovery after my c-section for 14 hours. It was busy and loud so I couldn't sleep at all. They didn't check on me much and the recovery room was a dump. If I get pregnant again, I will deliver at Winnie.
Thanks so much to everyone for your recommendations!!!!
My coworkers all delivered here ( i work at FH Altamonte ) and really loved it here.... i guess they give you some special treatment and a larger suite if you work here........ 2 of them recommended Dr Sweet and his midwife- their office is attached to the hospital which is quite convinient for me (since i work here!) and they said the midwife is very personable and makes you feel really comfortable... So i am thinking i'll go there for my annual exam and then see how i like them. Thanks so much to everyone for your help!
Which FH do you have to compare it to? I have heard negative things about FH Orlando but great things about Altamonte.
Orlando, I guess??? The main one on Orange Avenue. I was with a friend after her delivery. And she had one of those "larger suites" that you mentioned. What a joke that was. LOL
