What can I spray on outside

furniture to keep it from mildewing?

Re: What can I spray on outside

  • I don't know of anything you can use as a preventative but if it's plastic furniture or PVC, you can spray with a solution of water and Clorox to get rid of the mildew once it's there. I once had flower pots and a PVC patio set that I always cleaned with Clorox water when they mildewed. Be sure not to spray it on anything that can't take the bleach, like cushions. Rinse once the bleach has killed the mildew. They also have commercial cleaners now that you can buy, but the bleach water does the same thing and is cheaper.
  • I am wanting to spray somthing of fabric cushions to prevent.
  • You might check the label of a Scotchguard container to see what it might do...that's all I can think of, good luck.

I've got some cushions that have mildew on them now, thinking of giving it a try with a weakened solution of Clorox, but may end up having to buy new ones. :(
