Best beauty spots? (hair, nails, waxing, etc)

I'm still working on a set of places that I feel 100% comfortable with, but I have found a nail place that I really like. It's over in with the Safeway near Tanque Verde and Bear Canyon. I am really particular about cleanliness at nail places but I felt 100% comfortable with them - and a mani/pedi combo is $35.

What are you favorite beauty locations?

  • Waxing--Spirit Salon on Campbell
  • I've been to spirit for both a hair cut and a bikini wax - liked the waxing, but the stylist talked to me about coloring my hair the entire visit  - not once, not twice, but like 8 times he brought it up. I wasn't down with that.  But I'd try them again for waxing, I just don't like having to make the appt. so far ahead.

  • For eyebrows I like Anna at Suite Nails. That's also where I get my nails done, by Mary, and she's awesome. I recommend them all the time. It's on Grant and Swan near the Petsmart. For hair, I've not found a fantastic place. I used to go to Fashion Cuts on Golf Links East of Kolb as a kid and loved Mary and Kathy, Kathy still runs the place, but I haven't found a fantastic, well priced hair salon.

The lady that did my wedding hair, Christie I think, and she works at City Looks on Kolb and Sunrise, she was very good, but a little pricey. If I was going to color my hair though, I think I'd go to her, she's a master colourist. I don't think I would want someone off the street doing it.

I've heard that waxing other parts beyond the eyebrows, Gadabout on Grant and Spa One on Campbell and Skyline are the places to go :)

  • I tried Spa One for the first time a few weeks ago and I was very impressed.  I just got my toes done, but I want to go back and try their other services.

It was uber clean and modern and comfortable.  Their prices were super reasonable.

They push this membership thing, which does seem like a good deal if you are getting spa services done all the time.  But you don't have to join and its still a decent deal at non member prices.

  • I get my hair cut by Justin at Toni and Guy at Crossroads Festival- I have been going to him for I think three years, and he did my hair for my wedding as well.  Megan used to do my color over there, but I stopped coloring my hair to give it a break.  She was amazing, though.  It always came out better than I pictured.

I don't typically get my makeupdone, but when I got married I used Larissa from Gadabout by the Costco on Grant.  If anyone ever needs it done, she did a good job. I think she waxes eyebrows as well.

Don't do nails or anything like that. :/
