Law & Order SVU

Did anybody watch it on Tues?

They tackled quite a few controversies in one episode!

They had Hilary Duff as the Caley Anthony mom basically, but then they launched into this whole subplot about the vaccination debate. I was just curious if anyone else saw it and what they thought?

Re: Law & Order SVU

  • I told Taylor we should start watching it again! I really wish I would have seen that episode.
  • I watched it. I definitely thought it was an interesting episode, almost too much in one episode. But the vaccine controvery they brought up was interesting, and I almost found myself with agreeing that the mom should have vaccinated her child!

  • I thought it was a great episode even with HiIlary Duff's bad acting..hehe.  The other mom definitely wasn't guilty of murdering the baby, but she was very irresponsible to not vaccinate!

  • Obviously they were being melodramatic about it (I mean a murder charge? Really?) but I did think it was interesting and timely. If a mom who suspects her kid might have H1V1 takes her kid to school or to the park and risks other kids, is it her fault?

I'd say yes, but it's an interesting area where civil rights clash with good of society and I don't know the right answer!

This is what I was thinking! I am all for parents rights to do what they want with their children (within legal limits of course) but at the same time when it affects other children and the public I don't know that it should be the parents choice? Oh the questions TV shows present!
