Moving to Indiana in August
Hi Girls!
I just found out that I'm moving to Indiana in August. My BF just sent in his deposit for grad school at IUB. We're currently looking for places to live, and a job for me. Are there any places to live, like apartments, or rent-able town-homes/condos within 30 minutes of IUB's campus that we should definitely check out or avoid?
Thanks!!!!
Re: Moving to Indiana in August
Bloomington is a great city to live in, especially if you are a foodie like me
I haven't been in the area for about five years, but from when I was there, I agree with what chef said. You might also try posting on The Knot local board and see if there are any college brides that can help you out
DH and I lived in Btown for 4 years and we have lots of friends still there. We actually lived in Ellettsville and it is less party central more suburban living... Fieldstone I think it is, is a great little place near the mall that has great apartments and more grad students and families. Also Deer Creek Property Management has a few more grad type apts.
As Lis mentioned there are TONS of amazing places to eat and shop if you are a foodie. There are also great parks, lots of events and activities both in the community and the school, and overall, it's a great little town. It's even BETTER May - August (ie no students!)
Check out Steeplechase. My husband and I lived there when he was in MBA school. We loved it. Mostly grad students out there.?

Class of '04 here. Reporting for duty!
I lived at Sterling University apartments, and I really liked it there. Although, with you guys being a couple, it might be awkward there, since they typically rent by the bedroom. You could ask if they have smaller units that you guys could rent.
I found it by looking online. I don't know if it was apartmentguide.com or one of the other sites.
Apartmentratings.com gives you reviews on apartments, so you know which ones suck.
I know that there are some on campus that aren't so bad for grad students if you don't mind the smell of international cooking.
