? about plastic bottle fed babies

My girlfriend called me today and told me that she saw something on Good Morning America last week that you should not feed your baby using plastic bottles. She was telling me that there is some kind of toxin that is used for the plastic and that she heard you should use glass. Did anyone else see this on Good Morning America, or have any comments towards this debate. Does anyone not use plastic bottles because of this?

Re: ? about plastic bottle fed babies

  • They now sell BPA free bottles at most stores.  I use plastic bottles and have since Lucas was born, I do not heat them or wash them in the dishwasher....when they are heated that is when chemicals used to make the plastic can come out.
  • Thanks, I did not know that about heating them. I have been heating them and also have washed them in the dishwasher. I will avoid doing that from now on. Thanks
  • I never thought about this..Good information! Thank you.
