Hotels Convenient for Soldiers Field

Hey Ladies,  Planning on heading to Chicago in September for a Bears game.  We are hoping to make the plans early ~ any recommendations on a convenience hotel??

TIA!

Re: Hotels Convenient for Soldiers Field

  • Well, there are hotels all up and down Michigan Ave, and Soldier Field (no "s" at the end :) is within walking distance of it.  I'd pick a hotel that's closer to the northern end of Michigan Ave, and just rely on the bus or a cab to get you to the stadium.

    Go Bears!!!  :D

  • you want to pick something that says "Grant Park" or "McCormick Place" and then you will be able to walk or have a cheap cab ride to the field.

I live right across Lake Shore from the field so I haven't stayed in any of the hotels but here are a few I walk by daily:

Best Western Grant Park--very short walk--1/2 block down Michigan and then walk down Roosevelt and you are there!  Also try Congress Plaza and Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.

     Have fun!

  • What ever you do, regardless of price STAY AWAY from The Congress Hotel. The staff has been on strike for YEARS (literally--there's a Web site about it), so it's horrifically run down and the service is nonexistant. Also, the Hyatt at McCormick place is pretty isolated, so if you have plans to do anything in addition to the Bears game, that wouldn't be my first pick, either. The Blackstone is right there and supposed to be quite nice.
  • I'd look into the Hilton Towers, The Blackstone, the Best Western Grant Park, The Essex, and maybe Hotel Blake (but that is a little far for walking, depending on the weather).

    Because we're fancy like that.
