Please recommend a Girls Night Out spot.

My MIL, Aunt in law and my sister are all coming from out of town in a few weeks.  Are there any places on a Sundays either on Broad Ripple or Mass Ave that serve alcohol?  If not I can always do another night but then my Aunt in law won't be able to attens as she is leaving the next day on Monday.

What places are really great to take them to with music, food, and loungy type atmosphere.   It could be a restaurant but I want something really hip/trendy.  No clubs please.  They are all coming from NYC so it's gotta be someplace great!  I want them to have a great time as they haven't had a mini vacation in a while :)

TIA!

  • DiVino Wine Bar (northside)

    Scholars Inn (downtown)

Those are the ones that are coming to mind but yeah... :)

Scholars Inn would be nice and upscale for them since they have their champagne brunch on Sundays.

  • I believe restaurants can serve alcohol on Sundays - you just can't purchase or go to a bar (that doesn't serve food). Hopefully someone can correct me if the restaurants I have listed below don't serve alcohol on Sundays....

Mass Ave: Scholar's Inn (brunch), BARcelona Tapas, Elements (brunch), Rathskellar (lunch?)

BR: I don't know if the corner wine bar or H2O are open on Sundays..... L'Explorateur would be nice.

The Monkey's Tale/Jazz Cooker is fun, but not trendy and upscale.

Move along, nothing to see here.....
  • Sorry I'm so late in this... perhaps my recommendations are too late.

L'explearateur and Elements are both closed.  So sad!

It's really hard to create an environment to live up to the nightlife in/excitement of NYC.  As much as I love Indy, you're probably just not going to find it.  Why not embrace the Indiana life, though, and take them to a restaurant that uses lots of good local foods and has an "Indiana" vibe to it?  Maybe go down to Bloomington/Nashville area.  You could go to the winery down there, shop on Kirkwood and go to dinner at FARM, which is a GREAT restaurant.  Or my other suggestions would be to tour Mass Ave, wander the shops and art galleries and eat dinner at either R Bistro or Scholar's Inn (previously suggested) OR go up to Broad Ripple and enjoy a nice day shopping and walking around the village area.  Some good meals there can be had at H20 sushi (previously suggested) or you could go semi-casual and do Midtown Grill or SUPER casual and eat on the roof of Bazbeaux.  Of course, if you wanted to stick to downtown proper, the swankiest kind of night you'll have would probably be going to Nicki Blaine's cigar and martini bar and then dinner at St. Elmo's steakhouse- an Indy tradition. The good news is that their dollars will stretch more here in Indiana, so hopefully you'll enjoy yourself.
