Baby "have-to" haves
I have a few things left on my registry that I was thinking about getting (I have a $100 BRU gift card), but was wondering any "must-have" items that mommies out there think they can't live without. I feel like I have a pretty well stocked nursery, but I'm sure there are things out there that are great and I should get. So...if you have any items you have discovered are "can't live withouts" as a new mom- please post them here!
Re: Baby "have-to" haves
right now i'm loving the swaddling wrap. we received several different kinds (miracle swaddling blanket, first years brand, etc.), but my favorite so far is this brand. i'd also suggest getting a bunch of waterproof pads to cover your changing pad cover, to put in your pack and play, over the crib sheet, etc. several ppl also suggested the ultimate crib sheet to me, but it didn't fit around our crib slats.
The miracle blanket for swaddling is a must! If you haven't read/watched "The Happiest Baby on the Block" - get it now before the baby gets here! It was great and saved us lots of frustration trying to figure out what she wanted. I'd also think about getting Mylecon drops for gas too.
i wouldn't be able to live without -
1. Miracle Blanket (the absolute best)
2. Boppy
3. Mylecon drops.
I second the miracle blanket; It saved us.
If you're going to nurse-- a Nursing Pillow- we have both teh Boppy (multifunctional) and My Brest Friend
You can never have too many burp cloths!
Ultimate crib sheet from BRU. ?The white ones have tabs on each corner and in the middle of each side. ?The ecru ones have tabs on each corner and at places on the side that work with?the cribs with thicker pieces down the middle. ?I used them in the crib, under baby on my bed when he was sick, and also put them in the chair while nursing when he was sick. ?Saved me from changing the sheets dozens of times, and saved my glider cushions...
Congrats and good luck :-)?
Ultimate Crib Sheet
Miracle Blanket
Diapers and Wipes (seriosuly, you could use your gift card for them!)
Ultimate Crib Sheet
Miracle Blanket
I think I'm in the minority here when I say I didn't like the Miracle Blanket. *GASP* I know! We tried using it & all the variations out there, but we liked the homemade swaddle blankets that my Mom made for us instead. We even asked her to make a 2nd helping of blankets. She just used material that she got at Jo-Anns, etc.
Anyways, a friend of ours had given us an Itzbeen Baby Care Timer. We LOVED this thing. Ours was blue, but they have pink out now. This little timer was a great way to remember when C was last changed, fed, & slept. I also used the last button to remind myself when I had last taken my medication. We used this until we finally were able to get on a schedule & could remember everything. In the beginning you are just soooo tired. HTH!
