DC Nestie needs help for a Milwaukee friend!
I am originally from Wisconsin, living in DC now. My very best friend lives in Milwaukee, and is having a very difficult time with a third recurrence of cancer. She is depressed, scared, and feels she is getting close to the end.
I am writing to ask my Nestie friends if you would help me give her a special day. She has dreamed for years of going to a spa. In fact, our running joke now when she has to go back to the hospital is that she is going to her "spa in Tuscany!" I would really like to give her a day at a spa where she can feel good about herself, and forget about cancer for one short day. The problem is, I am going through chemo myself right now and not able to work, and because of my own medical bills, I am not able to afford to pay for it for her.
Does anyone know a nice spa that might be willing at least to talk with me about a promotional rate or some sort of discount? I have contacted 3 massage studios, and none of the 3 was willing to talk with me.
If anyone has a recommendation, or a contact....you don't have any idea what that would mean to me.

What about contacting Gilda's Club? They might have help for your friend in general, and they would probably be a good resource about spas.
If she had breast cancer, there is also a group called ABCD--After Breast Cancer Diagnosis that might have resources for her.
