Restaurant/chef supply store

Does anyone know the name of the store like that that's in Hartford, somewhere near Brainard Road?  I know you can see if from 91 N and when you're going from the Berlin Tpke to the Charter Oak Bridge.

I've called every housewares store in the area looking for replacement lids for pots and pans, and no one has them.  I have 2 perfectly fine pots (2 qt and 3 qt) and the lids are both broken!!

Re: Restaurant/chef supply store

  • Do you mean "Everything for the Kitchen?"  I think that's the one in E. Hartford.
  • I have no idea if that's it.  It has a big sign on it that says "Open to the Public."
  • I believe the store is called chefs. (I was wrong - SEE BELOW!)  Also, did you contact the manufacturer directly?   My mom had some t-fal pots that the lid broke.  I called t-fal directly and they sent new lids.

    It is classic restaurant supply

  • If you mean the one in the plaza with Golf Wearhouse & with a blue & white sign, it's called Restaurant Depot and it is not open to the public.  It's a wholesale supply place -- you need to show proof of sales tax exemption.  Believe me, it's not that interesting and unless you're super committed, you wouldn't want to pay the prices on restaurant / public health code compliant cookware!

There is another one over there somewhere, but I don't think you can see it from the highway....  If I remember, I'll ask DH.

  • Also, if you're looking for just lids, you could try Professional Cutlery Direct.  They have a catalog & website, they're in No Branford and the last time I checked a while ago (like at least 2 yrs), they did sell lids separately for the cookware they carry.
  • Thanks ladies, I'll try those places that I haven't yet.  Farberware doesn't sell them directly, they use another vendor and I don't think they have the ones I need.  I'll keep looking!!
  • There is also a restaraunt supply place in Springfield.  The name is escaping me but it is downtown.
  • I finally found them online!!!

    Thanks for all the suggestions!
