Stupid dress shop!

Just need to vent:  I ordered my wedding gown in Sept from Bridal Garden and was told it would be in by April if not before...well in April I was told it would be in in two weeks, two weeks came and went and I called after a month only to be told it wouldn't be in till the end of July!!!

Did anyones dress take almost a year to come in?  I told the consulatant I want to know why and she said she would call tomorrow and find out.  I know I have time but the fact that it's taking almost a year worries me, I don't want to just say ok and then july comes and goes and still no dress.  I know 3 people who ordered dresses after me who are getting married a month before me who all got their dresses already, so I'm a little confused as to why my non beaded nothing crazy dress is taking so long.

Should I contact the desinger herself or see what the dress shop says, I'm just not sure the dress shop is telling me the full story.

TIA

Re: Stupid dress shop!

  • I didn't get my wedding gown from there but I do remember some other girls complaining about them.  I would keep on them and get a definite delivery date from them.

  • That seems really long. I would definitely keep on them and get some kind of guarantee that it will be in by July. Good thing you ordered it early!
  • Sometimes designers only send out dresses in batches, if that makes sense. My sister ordered her dress in Dec. for her Oct. '09 wedding. She found out a week ago that her dress won't be in until late September b/c this is how the designer does it.... when you order by a certain date you get it x-months later and after that date, you get it x + 6 months later. I don't know if this is true in your case, but I would keep on them. July is safe, but I would be nervous if July turns into August, then Sept., etc. GL!
  • I didn't order my dress from your dress shop but I did have the same issue as you are having. I ordered my dress 14 months before my wedding, they told me it would be in in 7 months, that date passed, then again they told me it would be in 4 months before my wedding, that date passed.. I ended up getting my dress 6 days before my wedding. I doubt this will happen to you because the owner of bridal garden is very sweet and will make sure her brides are taken care of and I had other issues with my dress. I would just keep calling the bridal shop. I wouldn't call the designer because for one thing the shop will not give out the number (atleast my shop wouldn't, i tried that) and two, it's the bridal shops job to stay on the designer.

Good luck and I am sure everything will turn out perfectly for you.. You still have time so try and relax. But I know how you feel and I know that is easier said then done.
