Re: Rec for Awesome Brownie

  • I make betty crocker & add hershey syrup. It makes them ooooooeeeeeeyyyyyy & goooooeeeeeyyyyy.?

You could also go to Ozzies on 7th avenue in Park slope. Their brownies & molten chocolate cakes are awesome.

Pretty much anything from The Littlest Cupcake Shop on 91st street & 3rd ave in Bay ridge is awesome. I've never had their brownies, but everything else that I've had has been really good. ?

  • that sounds good!!!
  • It is good. It's even better with raspberry sorbet. MMMMMMM I think I know what I'm having for dessert tonight.?
  • I make mine from a mix called No Pudge,?http://www.nopudge.com/, and they are SO good. No eggs, oil or milk needed you just add yogurt or applesauce. I usually use vanilla flavored and they are so rich and creamy. My Stop & Shop carries No Pudge and I bet Whole Foods and others do too.

  • I can not bake brownies - so the whole DIY thing is not going to work here - lol.

I have had no pudge brownies - my SIL insists on makin them - I think they are kinda YUCKIE, but supposedly the raspberry ones are supposed to be better.

I have since, planned out a bunch of places in manhattan that I will try and visit and hopefully find THE AWESOME BROWNIE.

    So far -

    Zaro's (just okay)

Au Bon Pain and Euro Cafe and Starbucks (kinda all taste the same and not that great)

Grey Dog (Big Huge peice of brownie but pretty dry)

  • Ok, I don't like TGI Friday's that much but I do have to say their Brownie Obsession is soooooo good!(and fattening of course but thats not the subject at hand...LOL). Its this very gooey warm brownie with ice cream, fudge and caramel. This is one of DH's favorite dessert and that is a lot to say since he only loves his dessert (he is a Pastry Chef)...LOL.
  • ?I'd check bakeries, sometimes even the ones known for their cupcakes have other baked goods. Sugar Sweet Sunshine, Magnolia, Kitchenette, Two Red Hens, Silver Moon are just a few names that come to mind. ?

I just bought the No Pudge brownie mix yesterday.  Will try it for the first time sometime in the near future when I have a chocolate craving.  Can't wait.
