Infant Care

What city do you live in and how much do you pay?

We're thinking about TTC in September, and we want to ensure we have enough for daycare costs after my 12 weeks off.

Re: Infant Care

  • When I was pricing things out for the little girl I take care of in my house it seemed to average $145 to $175 for infant care at a daycare center. This was in Rock Hill.  If you have time make calls to your local centers they would be the best source.

  • My MIL owns a daycare; so thank goodness we won't have this to deal with....
  • I'm in upstate SC. Son's daycare was $98 wk for infant care, when he was 2 and potty trained it went down to $91. It doesn't end there though..now that he is in 5K, it is $50 wk for afterschool care, and $105 wk for summer daycamp (dreading this). I don't know how people manage with more than one kid!

I was having a hard time locating contact info for local daycares.  I found a DSS website that lists out daycares and complaints.  So now, I have the neccessary information to find out actual costs.

I am glad you were able to find a helpful website. I remember looking all over for one and kept having a hard time finding the information. I ended up calling about 6 different places to get prices. I was not concerned about complaints since I was just looking at the prices but I can total understand you wanting that information.
